The Kenilworth Assembly Hall (also known as The Kenilworth Club), was designed by noted architect George W. Maher and is the historic building that has served as Kenilworth’s community house since its construction in 1906-1907. The Kenilworth Assembly Hall represents an evolution of the old New England village meeting house and has long been regarded as a masterpiece of George W. Maher’s mature prairie style. The building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and stands as the prominent centerpiece of Kenilworth, serving in a civic and cultural capacity for over 100 years. Many events are hosted weekly at The Assembly Hall from weddings, parties and luncheons to community meetings and events for adults and families.
Since our founding in 1978, William Harris Lee and Company has grown to become the world’s largest and most respected maker of fine stringed instruments. In our shop on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, more than twenty luthiers craft violins, violas, and cellos of incomparable quality, using tools and techniques that have been passed down through centuries of violin-making traditions.
The Wilmette Historical Museum was established by the Village of Wilmette in 1951. Today, it is jointly operated by the Village of Wilmette and by the Wilmette Historical Society, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to promoting local history. The Museum’s collections, begun in 1950, are now quite extensive.

Our club was founded in 1891 as a service organization dedicated to enriching the civic, educational, and social service sectors of our community. It stored books for the Elmwood Library Association until a public library opened to house them in 1904. It supplied lifeguards to the first public beach, supported a visiting nurse, oversaw the creation of Wilmette’s League of Women Voters, and ran a canning kitchen during World War II.
